Meet the team

Nick Hill was hooked on cycling at a very early age and before his early teens was riding his much prized Raleigh Europa over 100 miles from Bristol to West Wales and back!
Road cycling returned to Nick’s life when with his son Mitch and brother Tom he decided to ride from Lands End to John O’Groats in aid of a Cancer Charity they wanted to assist in 2013.
Nick founded The Bristol Mile Monkeys for just this reason.  Click for more and Nick’s Just Giving page

Mitchell Hill fell in love with cycling via Park BMX and embarked on the art of crashing! Mitch was also a promising middle distance runner with Bristol and West Athletic Club just like his dad Nick in his youth, however recurring groin injuries hampered his progress. On hearing Nick discussing that he had always wanted to ride from Lands End to John ‘O’ Groats Mitch stated that he had always dreamed of making the trip! So Mitch entered the world of road cycling and fell head over heals in love with the sport!

Brad’s first long distance charity ride was John o’Groats to Lands End in 2000 with his brother Jason. They repeated the ride 14 years later in 2014 and dragged some others along for the adventure. It was on this ride that he & Jason, met Nick & Mitch as they joined them for the stage into Bristol. In 2015 they joined forces and set off on an epic journey to cycle from Dunkirk to Rome in 10 days. It was a difficult trip with record temperatures, most days over 100 miles. Hi I’m Jason Cole, I’m older than Bradley Cole, much better looking, slimmer, fitter, faster than him. Poorer though due to 4 kids and a wife robbing me of any money I thought I had. I’ve been riding for 34 years (omg). Claim to fame, which didn’t actually get me fame for any more than the 1 week (I was in the cover of Cycling Weekly, (why couldn’t it have been a monthly magazine, it would have lasted longer)) was receiving an invite to compete in the 1st ever MTB Paris to Roubaix stage race finishing ahead of more then 100 professional riders Click for more and Jason’s Just Giving page.

Craig ‘Lewi’ Llewellin is 34 years old he is the newbie cyclist of the group. He only took up cycling about 1.5 years ago after getting the bug for it while supporting family and friends on two previous challenges, Lands End to John O’Groats and London to Rome.
Before taking part in the 7 do 7 challenge he hadn’t ridden many big rides, only a 2 day charity ride in May 2016 and attempted Chase the Sun in June 2016 which ended slightly prematurely after 80 miles.

Harry is the youngest member the team at just 19, however he has been racing mountain bikes since the age of 11 for the Bedminster Riders.  In fact he won his first race, at the 2012 Bristol Bikefest.  Harry took up road cycling as soon as he was tall enough to borrow his dad Jason’s road bike (I don’t think he has returned it yet).  Harry is just getting started with long distance cycling, His longest ride to date is 120 miles during Chase the Sun 2018.

Florence (Flo) after Nick’s Nan, mad as a box of frogs, strong as an ox and a driven hard working old lady.  She is  amazing and a beautiful 1980s (hand made in Leeds) Bob Jackson racing tandem.
In 2018 she was the first tandem to complete the Chase the Sun Challenge.
She has also been competing in the National Time Trials.

Joining the team for Part 2

Anthony Rollinson or “Munch” as he is more commonly known (long story) has been into cycling now for more than three decades. From winning his local BMX track day at 12 to cycling the famous Cols around France and Italy in his 40’s, he has always had a bike to hand. He has organised various charity bike rides and raised over £30,000 pounds for charity. He has been a part time Monkey (via Nick’s brother – Tom) for a few years. This is John, he is really tall and he normally rides mountain bikes.
John hasn’t had a chance to write his profile yet, as he is too busy training to debut for the Bristol Mile Monkeys for “Summit or Nothing” Part 2 Everesting Burrington Coombe.
